The Truth ... about Sally St John

I currently work as a success coach, and I love it. I spend my time with people who voluntarily want to be with me. They are not mandated to attend because of a court order. They find me, because they want honest, instant, feedback about why they're doing what they're doing -- no secondary motivation or gain.

I love my clients ... and working with people who are willing to accept objective, non-judgmental feedback and who are truly committed to seeing the TRUTH.

However, I've also worked with addicts and alcoholics and gamblers (some in denial); the disabled (some did not want to go back to work); Thieves, murderers, sociopaths, rapists, prisoners and members of "la familia" family" (many of whom had a vested interest in not telling (or wanting to hear) the Truth.

I remember Dr. Martin (my advisor during my Masters program at UNLV) asking us, "What type of population are you not comfortable working with?"

As a budding counselor, I, of course, said, "None. I will treat them all with respect and offer them the option to get well."

That was in 1990. Things have changed.

What I've learned is that most people do NOT want to hear the Truth, change, or accept responsibility. And when you happen to be the messenger, you're also the target.

I'm grateful for the experience, don't get me wrong, but I'm more grateful to be at a place in my life where I can work with people of higher consciousness -- who truly value the truth.

For any of you who have been swayed by the false allegations on the internet about me, I've attached some information that should put your concerns to rest. Feel free to contact and confirm any of this information, as it is true. . . and when you speak truth, there is nothing to hide.

-- I have never lost my license or had it taken away from me (I did voluntarily put my Nevada license "on hold" when I moved out of state in the event I ever moved back to Nevada. If you don't do that, you have to continue to pay for it each year (or lose it) and the costs keep going up.

-- Despite the resistant population I worked with, in all my 20+ years of practice, I've had one client (who loved me while we were working together, until I told her that until she addressed her addiction, her other problems would not go away. She wasn't too happy with me, and conveniently) who refused to pay her bill and falsely alleged that I was not qualified to practice. When I presented my documentation to the district attorney's office, her process was stopped immediately.

-- I did operate The Center for Holistic Rehabilitation, LLC under a valid business license ... In fact, I had 4 licenses for that business -- and paid for them semi-annually. Trick is you have to actually check the records to find them, instead of believing a false accusation.

-- Same with school. I did get my BA and MS from UNLV ... but not under StJohn. If you check the records under "Sally Crapis" and/or "Sally Nicholl Guber" (my maiden/former names) you'll find my transcript.

-- My doctorate was earned through LaSalle University -- and no, I didn't 'mail away for it' -- I spent 3 years earning it. (1992 - 1995) And yes, it was a "with-out-walls" / forerunner to online/distance education program, (ie: University of Phoenix) but I still had to read the books, do the research, defend my stance to a committee, and pay thousands of dollars to attend.

What that school's owners did after I graduated should have had no reflection on the validity of my earned credential -- but it unfortunately did in the public eye. Despite the fact that at the time I received it - December 1995) the school not actually accredited by the Christian Counsel of whatever they said it was - which was why I chose it in the first place) it WAS APPROVED by the Post Secondary Commission of Higher Education - which meant that the degree was valid.

I was informed of LaSalle's wrong doings about a year or so after I graduated -- I received an invitation from the District Attorney to participate in a class action law suit or file a suit of my own against the new owners if I felt I had experienced damage as a result of the current goings on. I did take them to court in 1997, but, since I had not experienced any negative consequences or lost business or been slandered (yet) - there was no grounds for remuneration. And, since the degree was approved by the Commission for Post Secondary Education when I earned it, I was not entitled to monies to a degree from another school. I also was not awarded child support since my potential earning capacities with my doctorate would exceed my (now) ex's.

--I charge fairly for my services, in fact, I often charge below the standard rate, and have always offered free services to those in need when would attend a free weekly public service meeting and demonstrate their sincere interest in getting well.

So, what kind of person would wrongfully call me "a fraud" and publish it on the internet?
  1. Someone who honestly did not know (or did not take the time to learn) the circumstances
  2. Someone who was angry at me or wanted revenge for a perceived wrong doing
  3. Someone who had something to gain by discrediting me ... whether that meant they could believe their own BS or they would have a chance to get me booted off a TV show I was filming about gambling and take my position as a co-host
Until now, I resisted taking legal action against some of the posters. I wanted to take the high road and show compassion / forgiveness for:
  1. Mental illness
  2. Addiction
  3. Greed
What I've learned, is that sometimes the high road means taking action and standing up for yourself ... with love. . . which, because of the negative ripple effect, and is what I'm doing now.

I'm giving posters a chance to voluntarily withdraw their comments. If the refuse to CEASE AND DESIST, they will be named in a law suit for defamation, slander, liable, malicious interruption, etc.

I welcome your comments about my performance

This was one of the first, " with out walls" institutions which was accredited by Commission for Post Secondary Education. Unfortunately, AFTER I graduated, the school was sold, lost its accreditation, and became a "diploma mill," but during the 3 years I attended, and when I graduated, it was regarded as a legitimate institution. The slanderous comments accusing me of receiving my degree from a diploma mill are not valid and were made by a competitor.

  1. Question everything.
  2. Don't believe it just because you've read it.
  3. Ask yourself, "Why?" ... Why would someone do (write, or say something) negative -- especially something negative that is NOT TRUE?
  4. What does a person have to gain from saying or doing something that wrongly defames another?
  5. Don't be afraid to snoop around and ask some questions! If it's true, there's proof. If it isn't true, there's also proof -- it's up to you to find it.
